Just six months after opening its doors, Swanky Malone, a Garston based cool and quirky hair shop for ladies and gentlemen, is expanding its services and growing the team.

New break-out space, the Swanky Lounge, officially opened at the end of April. Business people from the local area were invited to join the hairdressing team for a champagne reception that unveiled the comfortable seating area, complete with its own reclaimed retro bar. Swanky Malone’s signature 1950′s style is clearly evident in the new lounge, which allows group bookings a level of comfort and privacy.

Cameron Stananought, owner and top stylist at Swanky Malone said:

“We know that when it comes to big occasions, getting ready with your friends is half the fun. With the Swanky Lounge we hope to provide a home away from home where our customers can do just that. Wedding parties, hen parties or groups getting ready for a Saturday night out can spend a day being pampered in the salon and relaxing with their friends in their own private, comfortable space.”

As well as quality hairdressing, overall experience is key to the Swanky Malone offering. That experience is one that has been cleverly tailored to appeal to men and women alike. The Swanky Lounge, like the salon it sits in, uses a combination of wooden floors with retro furniture and fabrics to create a unique space.

The Swanky Lounge also assists the team with their desire to serve the entire local community. The dulcet tones of Frank and the rest of the Rat Pack, that can often be heard from the stereo, are already enjoyed by young fans of ‘retro cool’ just as much those who remember the 1950′s first time around. Now, as well as the group party bookings which are already flooding in, there are plans to host community and over 60′s events in The Swanky Lounge in the near future.

Top stylists Cameron Stananought and Laurence Morris are both just 23-years-old but have amassed levels of experience that would be difficult for any young stylist to surpass. The hair shop is a labour of love for the pair and their distinctively different brand has quickly taken off; just half a year since its launch, Swanky Malone is seeking an junior hairdresser to increase capacity in line with demand.
