After only being open just over a year most new businesses are happy to have made it through their first full year after the trials and tribulations of starting a new venture. Swanky Malone’s young owner Cameron Stananought has though found himself after just 12 months in a slightly different position!

Cameron from Swanky Malone, a cool and quirky hair shop for ladies and gentlemen on St Mary’s Road in Garston, Liverpool (continuation of Aigburth Rd) found himself late last year being placed on the sought after TIGI Inspirational Youth Team. Cameron aged just 24, along with just nine other carefully selected young stylists from around the UK. They received training and mentoring from top industry talent and this culminates next month with 2 of the TIGI top 10 being picked to fly over to Las Vegas and work on an advertising campaign shoot for the international brand.

So to then also find out just after Christmas that his salon has been shortlisted for the Liverpool Lifestyle Salon of the Year Award comes as a second major boost for Cameron and his young team. His salon is truly unique and is a bold assertion for any start up, but with its authentic 1950′s vibe that penetrates through everything from the reclaimed, original chairs to the dapper three-piece suits worn by its stylists, Swanky Malone can definitely make such a claim, and back it up with aplomb.

The team are now also expanding with Molly Mullen now onboard as the resident apprentice. She now splits her time between the South Liverpool salon and the Andrew Collinge city centre training academy as the Swanky Malone team grows from strength to strength.
