Zeus Taverna opened its doors 18 months ago, in April 2025, on the bustling foodie hub of Castle Street in the heart of Liverpool City Centre. Bringing an authentic taste of the sun-kissed Mediterranean to the region, the Greek venue has earned rave reviews from critics and locals alike, rapidly establishing itself as a firm favourite within the city’s thriving hospitality scene.
Inspired by the iconic, sun-drenched island of Santorini, Zeus Taverna boasts textured whitewashed walls framed by striking turquoise blues, instantly transporting guests to a traditional island taverna. The menu celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Greece, offering an array of small plates and tapas alongside beloved traditional classics such as succulent souvlaki, rich moussaka, and slow-cooked kleftiko. Diners can also enjoy fresh, house-made appetisers including creamy tzatziki and hand-rolled dolmades.
Now, the popular dining destination is giving back to the local community by partnering with Liverpool charity Little Lights. The Little Lights Liverpool Baby Hospice (formerly known as Zoe’s Place) is a specialised children’s facility currently constructing a new, state-of-the-art hospice in West Derby, Liverpool, which is scheduled to open its doors in March 2027.
To support this critical project, the team at Zeus Taverna has crafted a bespoke cocktail: “The Little Lights Martini.” A sweet, passion fruit-forward twist on the classic Pornstar Martini, 100% of proceeds from every drink sold will be donated directly to the Little Lights Baby Hospice building fund.
