Designers and boutiques from across the country take centre stage at Liverpool Fashion Week in association with Fashione 10-12 October 2016
Now in its eight consecutive year the three day high profile catwalk event takes place at The Liner Hotel in Lord Nelson Street and once again sees a diverse range of couture, street wear and lingerie, with the addition of an international shoe designer striding onto the catwalk on opening night.
Opening Night, 10 October sees evening wear, bridal couture, plus size high street fashion and accessories take to the catwalk for the first time, with the Viva Voulputuous debuting their size 18plus designer corset range
New Talent Night, 11 October, sees emerging designers launch their collections and we can expect an energetic mix of designs and prints for one of the most popular nights of the event
Closing Night, 12 October, focuses on the international designers and boutiques. We have skater style, menswear, casual and haute couture. Designers are flying in from USA, Africa and the Ukraine to participate. A competition run by Corky’s Glitter Schnapps also offers a catwalk slot for a designer who can demonstrate what Liverpool Fashion Week and their sparkling drinks brand is all about.
A spokesperson for Corky’s Schnapps said, “Corky’s is proud to sponsor Liverpool Fashion Week after the brilliant success of Manchester Fashion Week earlier in the year. The brand new Corky’s bottle design will be exclusively showcased before they hit stores and customers will get the opportunity to see our amazing glitter range. We look forward to seeing everyone there!”
Liverpool Fashion Week has partnered with Fashione, the leading suppler of epos e commerce solutions to boutiques and fashion retailers. All boutique owners are invited to attend the event and visit their stand where free demonstrations will be given to show how they can make simple improvements to their business that are cost effective.
Paul Parker, director of Fashione said, “We are delighted to be sponsoring Liverpool Fashion Week. It gives us a platform to be seen by boutiques and designers and opens up the opportunity for us to work together. LFW is the top regional destination for designers and boutique owners and we are looking forward to showcasing our state of the art epos e solution system to everyone who attends.”
“Liverpool Fashion Week once again shows off the creative talent of the city and puts us on the fashion map of the UK,” added event director Amanda Moss “I cant wait to see the shows which always attracts the right audience of fashion buyers, model scouts and industry professionals so people have the opportunity to further their career. At the same time Liverpool Fashion Week makes fashion shows commercially accessible for everyone. It is a great night out, seeing fashion designs before they hit the high streets and yet everything you see can be bought immediately.”
All shows will have a video link to a screen on the catwalk making ensuring everyone has a front row seat for this annual fashion extravaganza. In addition entertainment from musical talent from around the region offers an interlude to the fashion shows each night.
Also continuing their support for the Liverpool fashion scene is BMD:Law which specialise in looking after small business and start ups.
Director of Liverpool Fashion Week, Amanda Moss, said, When you come to Liverpool Fashion Week you are experiencing a show that is on parr with London Fashion Week, as endorsed and commented on by London fashion PR agencies who attend annually. Our models are 18yrs – 60, again demonstrating that being fashionable should not be pigeon-holed to a younger generation and is commercially accessible to everyone.
We have local designers and boutiques from around the UK; a designer flying in from Los Angeles, India and the Ukraine to showcase, proving once again that Liverpool Fashion Week is truly an international event.
What Liverpool Fashion Week offers is a springboard for unheard of designers to launch their careers in front of the UK’s fashion media and buyers. We offer an affordable platform for them to be noticed and; not only do we assist them with putting a catwalk show together, but we guide them in marketing their business to their target audience as well.
It is more than just a “fashion show” – based on previous designers’ testimonials it really can change their lives.”
The creative hair team is headed by the award winning Andrew Joseph Manion and make up is under the supervision of the award winning Emma Lampkin. Music once again is provided by international DJ Sarah Giggle.
