The Lab Fat loss & Fitness Studio has been open now just over a year on Stanley Street and to mark this they are holding a series of charity challenges on Friday 22nd February from midday onwards.

The basement gym has quickly become the go to place due to both the quality of its offering and also the top level of trainers that work there. Owner and personal trainer Joe Neill said “I opened The Lab in Liverpools commercial district over a year ago now and have loved every minute of it. I now want to mark the place being open a year by giving something back. “
Series of challenges.

-Which team can lift the most “weight” in an hour? A challenge to teams of 2-4 to see who can as a group lift the largest amount of weight in one hour.

-Liverpool to Manchester 55km distance. 1km per leg per person.

All of the above will be in aid of the charity – CRY – Cardiac Risk for the Young,  in memory of Daniel Parry who passed away at the start of this year during his sleep. Brugada syndrome was the cause of death and this is a condition that causes a disruption of the heart’s normal rhythm. Specifically, this disorder can lead to irregular heartbeats in the hearts lower chambers (ventricles), which is an abnormality called ventricular arrhythmia.

All monies raised will go to further testing for people who want it to prevent this heartbreak for another family. A just giving page has been set up here –

Co-organiser of the event Mark Jacob said “ Daniel was a close friend of mine and was very competitive in all sports he done. This is a great way to remember him and also raise funds for him.”
Owner of the Lab and fellow organizer of the event Joe Neill said “Hopefully we can help raise not only funds for a fantastic cause but also help raise some awareness for a little know but horrendous condition. The aim about making it a competiive afternoon is to give gyms and coaches in the area a chance to get their competitive juices flowing all for a good cause. Everyone loves a little competition don’t they!”

Event address :-The Lab Basement, 12-14 Stanley Street, Liverpool, L1 6AF
