New Queen Square restaurant combines authentic Turkish and Mediterranean flavours with a striking all-weather open-roof terrace.

A new Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant has opened in Queen Square, inviting guests to enjoy the feeling of dining beneath the stars throughout the year.

Istanbul Breeze is centred around a fully glazed terrace with a motorised retractable roof, allowing diners to enjoy open-air dining in warmer weather while remaining comfortable and sheltered when conditions change.

Owner Reza Nowrouzi said:

“Our terrace is designed to feel special in every season. Guests can dine beneath the open sky in summer, then stay warm and protected when the weather changes without losing that wonderful outdoor atmosphere.

“For us, it is more than a terrace; it is the heart of Istanbul Breeze.”

Accommodating around 120 guests across two floors, the restaurant blends contemporary style with a warm Mediterranean character. Rich wooden flooring, elegant timber seating, plush booths, and smoky mirrored tiles create a sophisticated yet welcoming setting, while colourful textiles and trailing greenery add warmth and personality.

Located beside ASK Italian, Istanbul Breeze offers a menu inspired by authentic Turkish and Mediterranean cooking. Traditional recipes, including dishes passed down through generations, are prepared daily using fresh, carefully sourced ingredients cooked over a stone grill and oven.

Highlights include hot and cold mezes such as Patlıcan Tarator (roasted aubergine with garlic, yoghurt, tahini, and olive oil), grilled halloumi, crispy calamari, and Turkish köfte.

The main menu also features Ali Nazik Kebab—served over smoked aubergine purée with garlicky yoghurt—alongside charcoal-grilled marinated meats, fresh seafood including king prawns and sea bass, traditional stews, and handmade artisan burgers.

A wide-ranging drinks and wine selection makes Istanbul Breeze equally suited to relaxed lunches, pre-theatre drinks, evening cocktails, and special celebrations. From Monday to Friday between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM, guests can enjoy two cocktails for £14.

Traditional Turkish music creates a relaxed atmosphere during the week, while live music and guest DJs bring added energy to the venue at weekends.

Reza added:

“Turkish hospitality is about making every guest feel like family. So many people return from Turkey with wonderful memories of the food, atmosphere, and warmth of the welcome. We want to recreate that feeling here in the heart of Liverpool.

“Istanbul Breeze may be a hidden gem today, but with its beautiful setting, authentic food, and space for dining and celebrations, we hope it will not remain hidden for long.”
