Aquapod seafood restaurant, based in Liverpool’s bustling Bold Street, has faced some recent press which it is keen to address and set the record straight, so it can get back to doing what it is now able to do best – offering a unique dining experience in the city’s gourmet district for shoppers, tourists and visitors to the city centre looking for a tasty meal in the family-friendly venue.

A spokesperson for Aquapod explains: “We have taken on board some recent criticisms and recognise that all new restaurants encounter teething problems, especially if they are based in newly built/converted premises which may bring along its own minor issues.

At the time of a previous inspection, there were some unfinished areas of the building which were still being finished, which we are delighted to announce are now  completed. We appreciate in a new conversion these snags can occur, and have got up to speed to ensure they have been dealt with.

In terms of our seafood and fresh fish, we use the city’s most reputable suppliers and it is delivered to us daily, on ice, which is traditionally how suppliers wish to transport it. It is then our job to unpack it and prep it on the same day, which is our preferred method of working in terms of our experienced chefs and kitchen staff. We have had a thorough review of all areas of our operations and welcome any dialogue that promotes both reassurance and confidence in our facilities and equipment.

As a team, we have absolutely pulled together not just to address these concerns, but to consign them to history. This means that Aquapod can get back to what we have always wanted to achieve – which is to bring an innovative, seafood-based restaurant, renowned for fresh fish and produce, to Liverpool’s most exciting street for relaxed, international-style dining.

We are delighted that we have been overwhelmed with a whole host of 5-star reviews, which have recognised our first-rate menu, levels of service and warm welcome. We are also delighted that we are getting returning guests, and of course, we are always ready to welcome new ones. Our most recent guests have had some really complimentary things to say about Aquapod which we are really pleased about:

‘Thoroughly recommend this place. Service was second to none. Food was excellent. I had as a main the Monkfish Moqueca. Beautiful fresh spices and herbs and the rice was the best I’d ever tasted. One of the starters we shared was mushrooms in some dipping sauce. We saved some of the sauce to dip chips in. It was gorgeous. The fish tank is mesmerising and a great talking point. The staff are really friendly. The whole place including toilets are well kept and spotless. Excellent, well done to all.’

‘Had the sea bass was amazing cooked fresh and wait time was minimal , lovely place and very friendly staff, highly recommended’

‘Lovely fresh meal in a quiet relaxed atmosphere. Service was excellent and very polite. Would recommend a visit and shall certainly be going again.’

Here at Aquapod we are keeping it simple and effective and we are always open to adding further innovations and improvements, even though we are very happy with the benchmark we are now working towards.

We would really like to thank the public for their support and belief in us, too. It is their reviews and feedback which mean so much to us, and we continue to strive to provide them with the highest levels of service.

Aquapod is looking forward to a really busy Spring/Summer season ahead, which really lends itself well to our menus. It is definitely a case of onwards and upwards for us, and we can’t wait to introduce further menus, great value offers and promotions and a whole host of developments which we will be happy to reveal in good time.”
