The Liverpool City Region LEP along with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and other key partners, including Downtown In Business has launched a campaign targeting businesses with the aim of bringing full High Speed Rail to Liverpool.
There are compelling business reasons to unite in support of this campaign now, even though the actual building of a High Speed Rail link is some years away.
The campaign is built on an economic case study commissioned by the LEP and partners, which concluded that bringing HS2 to Liverpool would contribute an additional £8.3bn of GVA to the local economy, 14,000 new jobs, while also having a positive impact on both visitor numbers and freight capacity, benefitting the whole of the North as well as our City Region.
We are holding a Business Summit event to share more details about High Speed Rail and business and we would ask that you not only support this campaign but also play a prominent role in it and pledge your business’ support:
Thursday 4th September
8:30am to 10:30am
Venue: No.1 Mann Island, Liverpool
Tea and Coffee will be served
Your attendance and support is exceptionally important to us and I cordially invite you to join us and other businesses from across the City Region to take part in this important event.
Speakers will include:
• Robert Hough (Chair, Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership)
• David Brown (Chief Executive and Director General, Merseytravel).
• Councillor Phil Davies (Chair of Liverpool City Region Combined Authority)
• Business Advocates on why High Speed Rail is important to their business, sector and the economy as a whole.
