As we enter the last week of national lockdown in England, hospitality venues across Liverpool are faced with an anxious few days until they find out what tier they will fall into. The Government has now announced, on Monday 23rd November, that we will continue with a more rigid three tier system and the rules in the three tiers have been tightened across the board, aimed at keeping the virus under control.
One local favourite in Liverpool city centre Harrison’s Bar & Kitchen are trying to keep positive in these unprecedented times and have decked out the North John Street site in Christmas decorations, even while still currently closed due to lockdown, as they sit tight hoping for some good news this week.
One of the Directors of Harrison’s Bar & Kitchen – Jon Hewitt said “This has been the worst year to be in hospitality any of us have known with guidelines and restrictions changing constantly from the rule of six to curfew hours. We are thinking positively here and hoping the government sees sense and places Liverpool into either tier 1 or 2 come this Thursday. Tier 1 would be the best of a bad bunch, but our feelings are, based on the facts and the mass testing in the city we will come out of lockdown in tier 2. Sadly tier 2 is now like the old tier 3 but we want to open our doors on December 2nd with some Christmas cheer and goodwill and what better way than for the site to be dressed for the festive season. “
