NEW DATE TO BE ADDED

This Saturday August 1st will see a return to live music at the Grand Central in Liverpool City Centre. After more than four months of venue closures due to the Coronavirus lockdown, indoor, live music performances will legally be allowed to take place across the UK from August 1, with socially distanced audiences.

The news was announced by the British government on Friday July 17th and followed a previous announcement on July 9th that outdoor performances with socially distanced audiences would be allowed to take place from July 11.

The government’s guidance for indoor performing arts events includes measures such as increased deep cleaning, reduced venue capacity and limited ticket sales to ensure social distancing can be maintained.

Halyley Smitton Events Manager for the Renshaw Street based  Grand Central Halls said “From August indoor theatres, music venues and performance spaces will safely welcome audiences back across the country. The Dome at the Grand Central falls into the theatre category and we are glad to say we will be holding our first live event this Saturday August 1st.”

This Saturday will see local favourites Soul Jam, Art & Hodges and George Gallagher take to the main stage from 3pm, with the doors at the Roscoe Gardens entrance opening at midday. The host for the day is the Royal Court favourite Linzie Germain. Hayley added “ We are following all of the government guidelines and the dome is limited to no more than 300 places. Normally we can fit in around 1200. This is following on from the success of our outdoor Roscoe Gardens events which have run over the past month making the most of the so called British Summer.”

Tickets have been very popular but there are still some available  by calling 0151-709-3559.
