The Ship Inn, a beloved historic destination nestled on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, has officially announced it will host a free Family Fun Day on Saturday, 6th June 2026.

Running from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM, the event promises a full day and evening of entertainment designed for all generations. Located at 6 Rosemary Lane, Downholland, the 18th-century pub is capitalising on its expansive scenic beer garden, outdoor bar, and picturesque waterside views to stage its biggest community gathering of the season.

The event is completely free to enter and will feature a mix of family-friendly entertainment, activities for children, and live weekend entertainment stretching into the evening.

Ryan Dillon, Director of The Ship Inn, expressed his excitement for the upcoming event:

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome families from across Ormskirk, Haskayne, and the surrounding Lancashire villages to what is shaping up to be an incredible day out. Attendees can look forward to the pub’s signature homemade British classics and pub favourites, alongside refreshments from the dedicated outdoor bar. True to the pub’s traditional hospitality, the event is entirely dog-friendly, and canal traffic is welcome to make use of the pub’s overnight moorings.

No advanced booking is required for general admission, though families are encouraged to arrive early to secure the best spots overlooking the water.
