Moving on up – Andrew’s is now the largest independent estate agent in Wirral
Following their acquisition of Cathy Behan Estate Agents in Bebington, Andrew’s Estates can now confidently call itself the largest independent agency in Wirral, superseding Clive Watkins, which was recently bought by national property chain Countrywide.
The new branch brings their total to 6, as Bebington joins Neston, Prenton, Little Sutton, Wallasey and Moreton as the latest location in the group’s coverage of the peninsular.
Since the first branch opened in Neston six years ago, Andrew’s Estates has rapidly risen from new kid on the block to becoming a force to be reckoned with in the sales and letting world. They have scooped a number of awards, including Gold at the Times and Sunday Times Best Small Northern Lettings Agency of the Year 2015 – a feat they hope to repeat at the next awards ceremony this June.
It was this pedigree and their avowed focus on Customer Service that persuaded Cathy Behan to move her agency on to Andrew’s Estates. She said: “It’s time for me to retire and enjoy my husband, house and holidays.
“I founded the agency 14 years ago, after spending the previous 14 years with a corporate agency, and have enjoyed being independent. I was keen to ensure that legacy was not lost.
“Andrew’s is also independent and I am sure they will look after our clients as we have ourselves. On that note, I’d like to thank all our clients past and present for their support over the years.”
Cathy also thanked her long-standing colleague Sharon Philpotts who is leaving at the same time as her. They started the agency together back in 2002. Existing sales agent Christine Lees-Metcalfe, who has worked at the agency for 5 years, will be staying on. The new manager will be Daniel Hewitt, who is moving from the Neston branch of Andrew’s Estates.

To cap an exciting period for Andrew’s ESTATES, they have also just become the newest member of the Guild of Professional Estate Agents, the national network of independent agencies. The Guild exclusively appoints just one member from each town and membership brings with it a boost to the promotion of property listings for clients.
