Sefton Park Suites opened on Sunday 24th May in the former Alicia Hotel in Aigburth Drive after a three-month refurbishment project that saw its spacious rooms ‘brought beautifully back to life’.
With a slogan of ‘Celebrate. Meet. Dine.’, owner Mark Harrison says he’s excited about the future of Sefton Park Suites which he says is as much about the people as the place.
“I want to bring the Sefton Park community together and make this somewhere people gather and meet up, and mark all of life’s major milestones,” he says.
“I’d love to see it come back to life with events and coffee mornings, and to find the fun again.”
It’s taken ‘blood, sweat and tears’ to revamp the space – part of The Liverpool Aigburth Hotel – after it was acquired back in February.
Mark, who’s also licensee and manager of the events space at Kensington Fields Social Club, has overseen a raft of renovations including repainting in neutral tones of cream and gold to give it a light, luxurious and stylish feel.
Brick has been exposed to add to the more modern décor, with natural wood floorings to echo its natural surroundings near the 235-acre Grade II listed park, with its boating lake, Fairy Glen and stunning restored Palm House.
The orangery-like Glass House Restaurant which overlooks the park is the perfect place for breakfast, dinner, or coffee with friends, and it will soon be launching a lavish Sunday lunch menu.
There’s a conference room for training days, meetings and corporate gatherings, with screens and hi-tech projection facilities, and which boasts the option to add refreshments and dining facilities.
And there’s a cosy reading room which is the perfect space to hide with a coffee and a good book or to relax and chill between conference sessions or after a meal.
Sefton Park Suites is home to a 120-capacity function room which can host wedding receptions, anniversary and birthday bashes, life celebrations and Christening parties, and more. Part carpeted, it also has a dance floor and buffet area, and catering can be provided.
It’s also hoping to regain a wedding licence so wedding ceremonies themselves can be held there once more.
“We want to welcome everyone from businessmen to people from the city and the Sefton Park area and see them marking all of those major milestones – and smaller ones. We want to welcome the local runners from the park too, as we’ll be offering healthy food options, like acai bowls, and smoothies,” says Mark.
“Sefton Park Suites is for everyone. We want them to enjoy it and make use of it; to celebrate and make memories.”
